One of the main characters doesn't see spirits, but can swallow them whole.

The manga Phantom Busters by author Neoshoco will receive a TV anime adaptation, premiering in 2027. In honor of the announcement, Neoshoco prepared a teaser illustration, thanked readers, and explained why she is especially happy about the adaptation:

“I think Phantom Busters is one of those stories whose humor will be even more vividly revealed in animation, so as an author, I am truly happy that the adaptation has become a reality! Look forward to seeing the Phantom Busters characters come to life on screen and have fun!”

The story follows Eugene, an honor student who doesn't believe in ghosts, and his classmate Mogari, an exorcist capable of swallowing spirits whole. Mogari himself cannot see ghosts, so the characters have to team up with someone who has that ability and create a school exorcist club.

The manga has been serialized in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine since August 2023. Its cumulative circulation, including digital editions, has exceeded 1.4 million copies. The exact premiere date, studio, and production staff for the anime have not yet been revealed.
