Doug Cockle shared a funny story that happened before the premiere of the first season of \"The Witcher\" series on Netflix.

Doug Cockle, who voiced Geralt in The Witcher game series, recalled how Henry Cavill invited him to the London premiere of Netflix's "The Witcher" series. In an interview with Ginx TV, the actor admitted that he initially didn't believe the message and thought he was dealing with a scammer:

"Henry texted me three or four weeks before the London premiere of the Netflix series: 'Hi Doug, it's Henry. Do you want to come to the premiere?' At first, I didn't believe it was him. I even scolded him a bit because I get a lot of strange private messages. I thought it was probably some weirdo. And then he sent me a photo!"

Convinced that the invitation was real, Cockle went to the premiere and met Cavill in person:

"He praised my performance and said that the way I voiced Geralt influenced the decisions he made while working on his role. We had a great chat. I spent the evening with him and his entourage. By entourage, I mean his family."

Doug Cockle has been voicing Geralt since the first The Witcher, released in 2007. Cavill played the witcher for three seasons of the Netflix series, after which he handed the role over to Liam Hemsworth.

In early 2026, Netflix included the fifth season of "The Witcher" in its release schedule for that year. However, in July, insiders reported that the premiere was postponed to 2027. By mid-October, the streaming service had not yet shown any footage from the final season or announced its release date, although the postponement has not yet been officially confirmed.
