GTA VI Pre-orders Generated $630 Million Before Release, Analysts Say

According to Sensor Tower statistics, PlayStation 5 accounts for about 74% of all Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders. Owners of Sony's console purchased 4.8 million copies of the game, generating $468 million in revenue. The Xbox Series X|S version sold 1.66 million copies and brought in another $162 million.
The difference in performance between platforms is largely explained by the fact that PS5 significantly outperforms Xbox Series X|S in overall console sales.
Analytical company Newzoo suggests that GTA VI could generate up to $5.2 billion in revenue in its first week after release.
