Jacob Elordi, it seems, is not yet ready to don James Bond's tuxedo. Following rumors that the "Euphoria" star had already landed the role of Agent 007, Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter reported that the final auditions are still ahead. Among the contenders, the publications name Josh O'Connor, Jack Lowden, and Callum Turner, but Elordi's name is not in the published lists.
At the same time, according to Deadline, at least four actors have reached the final stage of casting, so the name of one more candidate remains unknown. Auditions are scheduled to begin on Friday, October 23, and continue next week. They were initially planned to be held earlier but had to be postponed due to scheduling conflicts among participants.
The next James Bond film will be directed by "Dune" director Denis Villeneuve, based on a screenplay by "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight. Amy Pascal and David Heyman are serving as producers. Earlier, Pascal suggested that the name of the new Agent 007 would be announced by the end of 2026.
