According to insider FivesWalker, Lucasfilm is looking for two lesser-known actors for the lead roles in Star Wars Episode X, which will kick off Simon Kinberg’s trilogy.
At the center of the story will be a young man who, “like Rey, grew up as an orphan in harsh conditions and gets pulled into the events after being linked to a murder.” His companion will be a girl “from high society, a perfectionist of royal blood.” Together they will embark on a grand adventure:
“They find themselves in the middle of a big adventure together, and she is the one who brings him into a broader arena where familiar ‘Star Wars’ characters operate.”
According to FivesWalker, the new duo is being compared to Rey and Finn from “The Force Awakens,” but more attention will be paid to the romantic storyline this time. The insider also claims that Daisy Ridley will return as Rey Skywalker, but her character will take a back seat.
Earlier, Hollywood media reported that Jon Watts could direct the new trilogy, with filming for Episode X set to begin in 2027. Lucasfilm has not yet officially confirmed these reports.
