CD Projekt RED has released an animated music video for the song “Watson” performed by Petite Meller and Oslo Green, which plays during the end credits of “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2”.
Instead of a compilation of scenes from the series, viewers were shown a standalone story about how Wick Kingsley met jazz singer Avida Yan and what happened between them prior to the events of the anime. At the same time, the creators addressed one of the complaints from critics who felt the series lacked character backstory.
The plot of the music video was written by anime showrunner Bartosz Sztybor, while directing, storyboarding, and character designs were handled by Jack-Amine Ibrahim, who previously worked on “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “Love, Death & Robots”. When creating the video, the artist drew upon the original designs of Wick and Avida by Studio Trigger.
