The main character is an ordinary Japanese student who is graduating from an ordinary Japanese university. His usual routine is disrupted when news arrives about the ruin of the family business. His parents were going to put an end to the unprofitable hotel, but that's why we have the main character to save the situation. The protagonist decides to turn the hotel into a haven for lovers: a place where couples can acquire new knowledge and improve their skills.
The player is quickly given freedom of action. Locations are scattered throughout Japan, which can be explored with the mouse. Important characters on them are easy to recognize, since they are the only ones with textures, while ordinary passers-by are made in the form of silhouettes.
The most important buildings in the locations are the hotels owned by the main character. When visiting them, a mini-game is activated where you need to settle guests into rooms. Each couple has their own preferences in terms of rooms, so they should be settled in accordance with their whims. If you are confident in your abilities, you can click the "drive guests to us" button to immediately have new visitors appear. After use, the room should be cleaned, otherwise you won't be able to settle a new couple there.
The profit earned in hotels should be used to purchase new rooms, which will allow you to cope more effectively with the flow of customers. You can also spend money on improvements such as increasing the speed and number of rooms cleaned, recharging issued power-ups, and disposable items in rooms. If you work a shift efficiently, the main character will be released early so that he can study the blueprints of new rooms. However, even playing in a relaxed manner, I never managed to get a rating lower than good.
Successfully completing several shifts gives the hotel a new star. They not only reward with various bonuses, but also reveal new locations. You can open additional hotels on them, which will increase passive income. Every Saturday, customers are especially active, and on this day the profit is great. Alas, this effect only applies to one random hotel.
There are gachapons in some locations. These are vending machines that give out random prizes for money - it's worth playing them until a unique item drops. Otherwise, it's easier to buy everything you need.
If you wish, you can spend the day working part-time. The main character is free to invite ladies of the heart during the shift, and try to guess their preferences using a mini-game. This could be selecting ingredients for ramen, where you have to choose broth, noodles, and toppings. Or spend the night in a bar - guessing her ideal date. It doesn't make sense to bother with part-time jobs - it's better to just look up the correct answers.
Moving between important objects in locations is inconvenient. To do this, you need to open a separate list and select your hotel or desired store there. It's easier to go to a specific location and find the building you need there.
Well, what about the girls — when it works out
A significant part of the game consists of developing relationships. There are eight beauties of various ages and social statuses to choose from. You can start a romance with: a childhood friend; a sportswoman and beauty; a quiet girl; as well as those who appear with new locations. Each girl has a unique appearance, background, character and preferences.
Finding the way to the heart of the chosen one is not too difficult. You will have a path of dates and invitations for the girl to work part-time as a guest. Or you can look up her favorite gifts, and use them to quickly increase the level of relationship.
With each new level of attachment, events occur where the main character meets the relatives of the chosen one, learns about her problems and experiences. At the next levels, the hero helps with problems, and the relationship blossoms with renewed vigor.
At the final level, the couple confesses their feelings, and actively seals their love. At this point, the player is shown excellently animated scenes. After sealing the relationship, it will be possible to invite the chosen one to your hotel, and then demonstrate the principle of operation of various rooms. To win the hearts of all the girls or stop at just one - this choice is up to the player. But in order to get the ending, the game will force you to choose one, and then break the hearts of the rest.
Diagnosis
Compared to similar games for adults, Quickie: A Love Hotel Story stands out for its simplicity. The game is a bit drawn out, but it's easy to level up both controlled hotels and relationships with available girls. It has a simple and understandable plot, and predictable plot twists. All this makes the game a good candidate for a leisurely playthrough.
