According to Team Cherry, the development of Hollow Knight: Silksong has been delayed for seven years not because of any scandals, problems, or lack of funding (the studio had no problems with money at all, considering that the original game sold millions of copies worldwide), but because of the size of the team and the abundance of ideas. The studio simply overestimated its capabilities and did not want to constantly remind fans about the project.
Silksong was supposed to be released much earlier, but the developers were so carried away by the project, from which they derived sincere pleasure, that they constantly tried to add something new to it.
Team Cherry has dedicated the last two years to polishing Hollow Knight: Silksong, trying to make the game simply perfect.
After the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the studio intends to expand the universe and work on add-ons.
