Sam Fisher returns after a 12-year hiatus. The veteran of the Fourth Echelon will face the consequences of Chaos Theory.
At Anime NYC, Netflix, in collaboration with Ubisoft, presented the first trailer for the animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.
The main character, operative Sam Fisher, is voiced by Liev Schreiber. The cast also includes Kirby Howell-Baptiste ("The Sandman") as Cinnia McKenna, Janet Varney ("The Legend of Korra") as Anna Grimsdottir, and Joel Oulette (Netflix's "Avatar: The Last Airbender") as a character named Thunder. According to the official synopsis, Sam Fisher returns to duty when a wounded young agent turns to him for help. The trailer also shows the funeral of Fisher's former comrade Douglas Shetland, who was killed by him in the game Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Shetland's daughter also appears on the screen, with the trailer hinting at a confrontation with her.
The script was written by Derek Kolstad ("John Wick", "Nobody"), who also serves as executive producer along with Hélène Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gérard Guillemot from Ubisoft Film & Television. The directors are Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage, with animation created by Sun Creature and Fost studios.
