IGN journalists have released a 33-minute video showcasing the gameplay of the first-person soulslike Valor Mortis.
The combat system in Valor Mortis is built on parrying, dodging, and the use of firearms and magic in combat. Bosses have a fatigue bar, filling which makes them extremely vulnerable to attacks.
Valor Mortis is set in an alternate 19th-century Europe, and the plot tells the story of a Napoleonic army soldier named William who has risen from the dead. The protagonist must uncover the secrets of a mysterious plague that has struck Europe and fight monsters from Napoleon's Eternal Guard.
Valor Mortis is being developed by One More Level, known for the Ghostrunner dilogy, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is scheduled for release in 2026.
