The developers hope to attract a new audience to the hit "roguelike" from Chasing Carrots with a free release with in-game monetization.

Erabit Studios has announced the launch of a free-to-play mobile version of Halls of Torment. The free version will be available on the App Store and Google Play on September 1, 2025, with pre-registration already open.

Previously, in October 2024, a premium port of the project from Chasing Carrots was released on smartphones for 489 rubles.

The free release is intended as a way to expand the audience and attract players who are not ready to buy. The description indicates that the key gameplay will be preserved, and game sessions will be designed for 6–12 minutes — just like in the premium version.

What specific changes await users in the free version is not yet specified. The project page on Google Play notes that the game will include in-game purchases, including elements of chance. Details about the content of these offers are not disclosed.

The original version of Halls of Torment was released on Steam in September 2024 and received over 28,000 positive reviews with an overall rating of 95%.
