Dune: Awakening Has a 10-Year Support Plan and New Planets. The Game is "Extremely Good" at Retaining Audience

The developers of the MMO survival game Dune: Awakening have confirmed that the project has a large-scale development plan for the next 10 years. This includes new maps and entire planets. Against this background, it is especially important that the audience is holding up much better than the team expected.

In an interview, the game's producer, Ole Andreas Hæli, noted that the team is "inspired" after the major launch. And interest in the project did not disappear after a couple of weeks:

"The game has been received very well, player retention rates have been extremely high. They exceeded all our expectations."

According to Hæli, thanks to this result, the developers can "take out of the box all the ideas that were not included in the release and start expanding the universe." There is enough material in the Dune books for this: for example, the polar regions of Arrakis are discussed.

"We will eventually go to new planets. The team is very inspired by what else can be explored in Dune."

Hæli also emphasized that post-release content will not directly depend on Warner Bros. films, but synchronization is still important:

"We want the audience to have a connected experience and explore Arrakis at the same time as the films, but that is the limit of their influence."

For the producer personally, the development of the Fremen theme will be especially significant. But no less interesting is the prospect of traveling to other worlds, "for example, to the Atreides' home planet Caladan, with its unique biomes."
