Early players have received Lost Soul Aside and are already confirming technical issues. Before release and without a patch, the game doesn't even maintain 30 frames per second.
Although the official premiere of Lost Soul Aside is only at the end of the week, the first copies have already reached users. Detailed impressions and short videos have begun to appear online, sparking active discussions.
On Reddit, user Liamkun11 shared his experience playing on PlayStation 5. He noted serious problems in graphics mode before the patch — the open battle, he said, ran "probably even below 20 fps." The video author described the performance drops as huge, which greatly hindered enjoyment of the spectacle.
"I always play in graphics mode (FF VII Remake, Rebirth, GOW, GOWR, Jedi Fallen Order, FF XVI, Black Myth, etc.) — and this game, at least for now, is unplayable in graphics mode. The picture is too blurry, the frames jump, probably not even reaching 20 fps at the beginning of the battle. In performance mode, the battle goes smoothly. Face textures don't look good. The physics of bodies in cutscenes is bad. The camera moves unnaturally, but this can be fixed by increasing the movement speed."
In performance mode, the game is noticeably smoother, but the picture quality suffered. Poor face textures, underdeveloped character physics, and strange camera work are the main complaints.
The first reviews caused alarm. Sony did not set an embargo on reviews, but the pre-release marketing was extremely modest for a game under the company's brand.
