Microsoft has taken a step towards expanding its cloud platform: now, not only Game Pass Ultimate owners will be able to play Xbox Cloud Gaming. The company has opened access to the service for subscribers of cheaper plans — Xbox Game Pass Core and Xbox Game Pass Standard.
The innovation is currently available as part of the Xbox Insider program. Participants received an update that activates Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) for these subscriptions as well. This means that game streaming is no longer a privilege of the most expensive version of Game Pass.
Core and Standard users who are part of the test program can stream projects in the cloud as part of their subscription. It is also allowed to launch individual games purchased earlier that support the cloud format. This approach allows you to quickly connect to sessions and continue playing on any compatible device — console, PC, or mobile.
For Microsoft, this is another step towards creating a unified Game Pass ecosystem, where streaming becomes the standard, not an additional feature.
