Paralives is preparing to change the perception of hygiene in life simulators. The developers of the isometric game have revealed new mechanics that may confuse some players — now the characters will take care of themselves and the environment.
Creator Alex Masse has improved the autonomy system: characters will automatically wash their hands and clean up after themselves after eating. But there is a nuance — only neat heroes.
"The autonomy system allows Parafolks to perform actions automatically after certain actions, if the conditions are met. For example, after using the toilet, the character will now wash their hands. But characters with the "Sloppy" trait don't do this", Masse wrote on Patreon.
This is a slight irony towards competitors — other Sims who often behave illogically, for example, washing dishes in the bathroom or visiting neighbors for incomprehensible reasons.
What can we say about Sims, if according to information published by WaterAid, approximately 80% of people worldwide do not wash their hands after using the toilet.
Paralives characters can also clean work surfaces and dirty items. Parafolks with the "Neat" trait additionally wash their hands after cleaning.
The genre is evolving — and Paralives, which will be released on December 8, 2025 in early access on Steam, could become an important milestone in the development of life simulators.
