Lenovo is preparing to introduce the second generation of the Legion Go portable Windows console. There has been no official announcement yet, but marketing materials, including a promotional video, have been leaked online. The source of the leak was well-known insider Evan Blass.
The device is based on an updated AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with Zen 5 architecture and integrated Radeon 890M graphics, significantly superior to the previous generation Z1 Extreme chip. The console will retain the 8.8-inch form factor and receive an OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and VRR technology support.
The new product will be equipped with a 74 Wh battery, up to 32 GB of RAM, and an SSD with a capacity of up to 2 TB.
Significant changes have been made to the control system: each controller now has two programmable buttons on the back (instead of one), and the right controller has two additional keys for "shooter" mode, when the controller is used as a mouse.
The manufacturer has also updated the cooling system: the rear panel has enlarged ventilation holes, and a larger fan is installed inside for better heat dissipation.
According to preliminary data, the starting price will be at least 999 euros, which is significantly higher than the first generation Legion Go, which was offered in Europe from 600 euros.
The device is expected to be presented at IFA 2025, which will be held from September 5 to 9 in Berlin. The date of sale will be announced after the official announcement.
