After a series of dramatic roles, Dwayne Johnson returns to a family adventure in the jungle.
Dwayne Johnson has officially confirmed that filming for the third movie in the modern "Jumanji" trilogy will begin in November of this year. The actor shared the news at the Toronto Film Festival, where he also presented the film "The Smashing Machine" - a biographical drama about MMA fighter Mark Kerr, in which Johnson played the main role.
"I love the movies I've made before. I will return to them again," the actor stated, commenting on his return to a more familiar role - a big family blockbuster.
Kevin Hart will also return to the franchise alongside him. The duo, which has already become the hallmark of "Jumanji", will once again be at the center of a new adventure. The first film - "Welcome to the Jungle" - was released in 2017 and became a successful reboot of the classic 1995 film. The sequel "The Next Level" cemented the success of the series, grossing over $800 million worldwide.
Details of the plot of the third part have not yet been revealed, but Sony Pictures promises to maintain the signature balance of action, humor, and family dynamics that viewers loved in the new version of "Jumanji".
The film, tentatively subtitled "The Last Story", is scheduled for release on December 11, 2026.
