The legendary Ellen Ripley is surprised that such a large-scale and profound project appeared on television, not on the big screen.
Sigourney Weaver, a symbol of the \"Alien\" franchise, recently shared her impressions of the series \"Alien: Earth,\" created by \"Fargo\" showrunner Noah Hawley. At the Toronto International Film Festival, Weaver admitted that she enjoys watching it and is amazed by the production, the cast, the scale, and the depth of the topics covered.
The actress noted that, unlike the classic films of the franchise, the series raises much more global issues concerning the future of humanity.\"It's much more than just a story about an Alien. It's a drama about our world and what might happen to it in a hundred years.\"
Weaver also admitted that she is afraid to watch the series alone. \"I need to watch it with my husband. What if one of these monsters jumps out of the screen?\" According to her, the project is so well-shot that she can't believe she's watching a project for television, not for cinemas.
The premiere of the series \"Alien: Earth\" took place on August 12, 2025. The first season is now in full swing: five episodes have been released so far, and the final, eighth, will be released on September 23.
