Red Barrels has released an update for The Outlast Trials — the Deep Burn limited-time event is back. Players will face new dangers: fire mines, flamethrowers, and the ruthless Pitcher, making the trials even more intense.
Extinguishing fires with water canisters has appeared, requiring additional strategy. A limited catalog is available until October 7, where you can unlock exclusive cosmetic items for event tokens.
The patch also includes two new trials. In "Traffick the Product," you need to invade Franco Barbi's territory and distribute Murkoff's experimental opioid, and in "Disrupt the Neighborhood," you need to destroy barriers and fences, creating chaos.
The document menu has been updated with convenient organization by topic, making it easier to study the lore. A number of changes have been made: Escalation Therapy has been reworked for smoother difficulty, up to 8 variators are activated from the 21st trial. The characters Otto and Arora have been rebalanced — increased chase speed, accelerated nausea accumulation, the effect can kill the player. New enemy ping icons have been added, improved enemy reaction to objects, and bugs have been fixed.
The Outlast Trials is a first-person horror game, a prequel to the first parts of the series, with events unfolding during the Cold War. The game is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in co-op for up to four players.
