Dark Pigeon Games will expand the geography of bionic Tanya's adventures to all current platforms.
Metroidvania Awaken - Astral Blade, released on PlayStation 5 and PC in October 2024, will appear on all current consoles in 2025 — Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. This was announced by publisher ESDigital Games and studio Dark Pigeon Games, presenting a new trailer for the game.
The plot centers around Tanya, a girl with bionic modifications, sent to the tropical Horas archipelago in search of a missing research team. However, the routine mission quickly turns into a disaster: the heroine encounters aggressive flora and fauna, mutated by the mysterious Karpas energy. As she progresses through the island, Tanya gets closer to the truth — not only about the ancient civilization, but also about her own origin.
The project became part of the third wave of Sony's China Hero Project initiative and won the Best in Play award at GDC 2024. On Steam, the game has collected 84% positive reviews based on over 800 reviews. Users praise the combat mechanics, visual style, and sound design, but criticize the narrative and monotony of some episodes.
Also in 2025, a mobile version for iOS is expected to be released. The developers have adapted the controls for touch screens, added gamepad support, and reduced the amount of mandatory backtracking. The content will remain the same, while it is possible to reduce the difficulty level for a comfortable playthrough.
Console versions have not yet received an exact release date. The iOS version will be released in the App Store on September 26, 2025.
