The update will be free for all owners of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch versions.
Bandai Namco has confirmed that One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 will receive a native version for Nintendo Switch 2. The updated edition will also appear on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The September Nintendo Direct showcased a Next Gen Update trailer, demonstrating improved graphics and a greater number of enemies on screen.
The original Pirate Warriors 4 was released in March 2020 on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, and later arrived on PC. The project combines musou mechanics with the One Piece setting and has sold over 4 million copies worldwide. The story campaign offers an original version of the events of the Wano Country arc.
In parallel with the graphical update, the game will continue to evolve with new content. Character Pack 7 will be released this fall, which will include CP0 Rob Lucci and two more characters whose names have not yet been revealed. The add-on will go on sale simultaneously with the version for Switch 2.
In early 2026, Character Pack 8 will follow, adding the three winners of the fan vote — Enel, King, and Zeta. All new heroes will be included in Character Pass 3, already available since August.
The first Pirate Warriors was released in 2012. The fourth became the most successful in the series — both in terms of sales and the amount of content.
The exact release date has not been announced, but owners of the game versions for the previous generation of consoles will be able to upgrade for free.
