Resident Evil Requiem could be a breakthrough in the horror genre. Capcom will provide a new experience by introducing solutions that can change the perception of fear. The developers call the game not just a continuation of the series, but something more.
Game director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa announced that Requiem will feature a new system that makes the gameplay even more emotionally rich. Previously, the series alternated intense scary moments with pauses — exploration, puzzle solving, or dynamic battles. The rhythm allowed players to catch their breath before the next tension.
This time, Capcom is going further. The new mechanic will enhance the contrast between fear and calm, creating a real "emotional sinusoid." According to Nakanishi, the difference between phases will be greater than ever, and players will feel like they are on a "roller coaster of horror" — from shock to brief relief and back to unexpected events.
The developers have not yet revealed the details, but promise that Resident Evil Requiem will play with players' emotions in a unique way. Fans are waiting for unexpected twists, intense scenes and moments that will remain in their memory for a long time.
