Ripple Effect's CTO, Christian Bull, emphasized in an interview that the studio initially rejected the idea of a port.
"Previously, Battlefield's approach was: we make the game on PC and then port it to consoles. This time, we made the decision very early on that it wouldn't be a port. We're creating versions simultaneously. And we've done several things to achieve this."
The team built special "farms" for continuous testing on all consoles.
"In addition, we made sure that every developer had a controller at their workstation. Of course, I find it more convenient to test builds on PC, but I do it with a gamepad. And we made sure that every employee at home or in the office checks the game specifically with a controller."
Separately, it is worth noting the DualSense support on PS5: adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and a built-in speaker are used, which reports the capture of a target by a missile or the voices of allies. If desired, these functions can be disabled.
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10, 2025, on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
