The regular PC version doesn't work very well.
Recently, PC gamers have had a reason to remember Dead Space 2 again. Modder Wemino has announced the release of the unofficial MarkerPatch, which aims to fix various issues with the game.
Some changes and improvements:
- Havok physics fix — stabilized system operation at high frame rates
- Fixes for high-performance CPUs — prevents crashes on systems with more than 10 processor cores
- Fixed VSync refresh rate (vertical synchronization, the regular version of the game ignored the settings and it was locked at 30 frames)
- Subtitle font scaling
- Anisotropic filtering is forcibly applied to all textures to improve clarity when viewed at an angle.
- Entity persistence — increased the maximum number of bodies that can remain in the game.
- Automatically sets the screen resolution in the game on the first launch instead of the default 1024×768 resolution.
- Disabled online features: "Prevents attempts to connect to EA servers on startup and prevents error messages from appearing. It also removes the store warning that some features may be unavailable due to lack of connection to the servers. Since the servers are constantly down, these messages are useless and only clutter the interface"
