Battlefield 6 developers have revealed details about upcoming seasonal content and adjustments after the open beta. The game will be released on October 10, 2025, and the first season will start "shortly after release." It will offer new weapons, transport, and maps that will be added regularly, providing a stream of fresh content for months to come.
General Manager Byron Beede reported that a number of changes have already been made based on feedback from beta testers.
"We've made so many changes based on feedback from [the open beta]. Changes to weapons, settings, recoil, hitscan behavior, rewarding accuracy, and emphasizing unique feel and effectiveness."
He noted a new kinesthetic combat system that overhauls movement to encourage more tactical play. Reduced slide-cancel jump momentum, a penalty for spam jumping, and reduced in-air accuracy to reward players who take a measured approach to combat.
Beede confirmed that a patch with additional fixes and improvements is in the works for release:
"We've made a number of other fixes that you'll be able to appreciate both at launch and later."
Executive Producer Ryan McArthur spoke about anti-cheat measures: during the open beta, tens of thousands of players tried to break the rules, but the Javelin system suppressed most attempts.
"We will continue to monitor regional cheats and improve feedback so that problems are resolved quickly."
