Vertigo Games, the studio behind Metro Awakening, has released a new trailer for Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow and showcased a 7-minute gameplay video of their upcoming stealth-action game. Journalists have also shared their impressions in previews of Legacy of Shadow.
Eurogamer noted that the game looks promising and has the potential to be a worthy addition to the Thief series.
Virtual reality makes the game more atmospheric and helps to better immerse oneself in the role of a nimble thief. Guards can be grabbed by the legs to knock them down and stun them, or immediately hit over the head with a club. Candles can be extinguished by hand, squeezing the flame with fingertips, or by blowing them out through the VR headset's microphone.
Reviewers liked that, as in previous games, there are various ways to reach the goal, not all of which are obvious. There are also secondary tasks in the locations, the completion of which requires observation.
Journalists also praised the graphics and optimization, but noted that the controls are not always responsive.
Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow will be released by the end of the year on PC and PSVR 2.
