CATO: Buttered Cat, an unconventional platformer from Team Woll studio, is preparing to debut on iOS and Android mobile devices with the support of Crunchyroll.
The main characters are Cat and Buttered Toast. Players must solve spatial puzzles using the unique abilities of Cat and Toast separately, as well as combining them to activate the "buttered cat" paradox to unlock alternative routes and secrets.
The project was created over two years and became the debut for Team Woll, a duo of developers who met at the BOOOM game jam in 2022. Initially, the game was conceived as an experiment, but thanks to positive audience feedback, it grew into a full-fledged adventure. It was released on Steam in September 2024 and received 98% positive reviews based on over 2250 reviews.
The mobile version includes all the content of the original: more than 140 main levels, 60 side levels, over 200 puzzles, mini-games, bosses, secret rooms, and more than 70 skins for Cat and Toast. Localization into Russian is also announced, but users of Russian digital stores, as usual, will have to look for alternative ways to get the release.
The mobile version is expected to be released on December 1, 2025. Pre-registration is now available on Google Play and the App Store.
