Not so long ago, many gaming companies said that NFTs were the future of the industry, but now tokens and their owners often become objects of ridicule.
In the zombie mode of Black Ops 7, where currency drops for killing enemies, the hero David Mason says: "So what are we going to do with the money? Just don't tell me it's some kind of long-term investment like NFTs".
Although people found the joke funny, many are unhappy that Activision did not invite actor Rich McDonald, who voiced David Mason in Black Ops 2, and believe that Milo Ventimiglia does not sound very convincing.
