Skate, the free-to-play successor to Skate 3, which turned 15 in 2025, has already gathered 15 million players. On October 7, 2025, the game received an update, opening the first season of content.
The developers have published a full list of changes. The city has been updated and better matches the aesthetics of the season. New "spots" for tricks have appeared - the largest ones have been named The Orb and The Skateway. 40 new challenges have been added to the game, and the soundtrack has been supplemented with 21 tracks, returning to the music of the 90s with bands Bad Religion, Sonic Youth and Jane’s Addiction.
As promised, two seasonal events will appear in the game: Skate-O-Ween (end of October) and 7-Ply Maple Harvest (November). The skate.Pass debuted with the update in standard and premium versions. Rewards are unlocked using the in-game currency Tix, and the system repeats the model of seasonal passes from Helldivers 2. The first season is the beginning of regular updates in the format of a game-service.
The developers reminded about the release on X, noting 15 million players. Skate has caused mixed emotions since early access - the game-service model and artistic style, far from the "skate culture", have been criticized. Currently, 66% of reviews on Steam are positive, which reflects the "mixed" status.
EA continues to develop the project. The game was released on September 16, 2025 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S and PC. Versions for Android and iOS are planned in the future.
