The developers were given a specific task.
The Witcher fans' attention was drawn to an analysis of the first part of The Witcher. Artur Ganszyniec, who worked on the story, analyzed some of the game's moments.
The developer explained why the combat system with different styles in the first part resembled a rhythm game:
«The combat system looks the way it does mainly because Mike Kicinski, who was the creative director of the game, said that we need to make a casual game that you can play with one hand and hold a beer in the other».
As a result, CDPR came up with the idea of making a combat system in which the player needs to find «their rhythm».
