New leaked images of Everwild's development have surfaced, showcasing the interface and some creatures from Rare's canceled game. Announced in 2019 as a major multiplayer brand, Everwild had been in development since 2014.

The project underwent leadership changes, creative reboots, and structural problems before being shut down in 2025 as part of a major Xbox Game Studios restructuring.

Images from the portfolio of an artist who worked on the project showcase the interface and menu with a six-section inventory system: Favourites, Figments, Tools, Mosaics, Seeds, and Plants. The first two sections are standard, while the rest reveal unique mechanics.

The Figments section contained small, bright creatures, including Light Figment, hinting at the collection or use of spiritual entities. Mosaics included decorative images of animals and figures from the trailers, possibly for storytelling or world customization. Plants/Seeds hinted at a gardening and cultivation system, with elements like Shrub Seed and other plants, confirming the game's connection to nature, its growth, and environmental care.

Some screenshots show the heroine next to stone circles and ancient temples, maintaining the fairytale and bright artistic style of the trailers.

The artist also reported that Rare analyzed Sea of Thieves data to understand which settings players used most often, making Everwild more accessible and personalized. Despite being in a playable state, the project did not reach the final stage and was canceled along with Perfect Dark and Project Blackbird.

Currently, part of the team is working on Sea of Thieves.
