Tencent has shown the first footage of the new game — Rules of Engagement: The Grey State. This is a tactical shooter with RPG and horror elements, which will be released in 2026. Judging by the trailer and gameplay demonstration, the project is visually impressive and emphasizes the atmosphere of horror.
Players will have to fight in PvPvE format, where the goal is to destroy demonic creatures, sometimes reaching colossal sizes. According to the plot, teams penetrate into the center of the anomaly, fight off waves of enemies and try to get out with rare artifacts. The game will be released only on PC — on Steam and Epic Games Store.
Tencent notes that Rules of Engagement: The Grey State adheres to the principle of "fair play", not "pay to win". The company claims that the project will be free, and monetization will be limited to the sale of cosmetic items. According to the developers, the strength of the character does not depend on money, but only on the player's skills.
