The new project from the creators of Arknights and Azur Lane turned out to be not as generous as expected.
On October 19, Stella Sora, a new action gacha from Yostar, known for Arknights and Azur Lane, was globally released.
The story follows a protagonist named Tyran who loses his memory and finds himself in an unusual world where fantasy blends with retro-modern aesthetics. He is accompanied by tracker heroines who can be obtained through gacha. Players assemble teams of three characters, navigate procedurally generated levels, and choose random upgrades during runs. In addition to the main mode, there are duels, "bullet hell" boss fights, and relationship simulator elements.
However, the project faced a wave of criticism on the day of its release. Unlike most similar games, Stella Sora does not offer significant starting bonuses. Free pulls are almost non-existent, and the chances of obtaining rare heroes are even lower than in, for example, Honkai: Star Rail, making it extremely difficult to start playing without investments.
On Reddit and Discord, the game is already being called one of the most "greedy" gachas of recent years, and discussions are ongoing about how long it will last. Some predict closure in five months, while others believe that the developers initially understood they were doomed and decided to profit from players in the first days of launch.
The game is available on Android, iOS, and PC. You can download it from the App Store, Google Play, or the official website. To mark the release, the developers presented another cinematic trailer, which is available at the following link.
