The enhanced version has not impressed everyone.
Plants vs. Zombies Replanted was recently released. The updated classic launched on Steam with "mixed" reviews.
Even before the release, some users doubted the quality of the project, and now they have been able to study it and leave negative reviews.
Users note the high price and criticize some elements — it seems to them that for the "improved" PvZ, they could have taken features from other versions of the game; for example, they said:
Dynamic sound, a feature from a game that came out over 15 years ago, and its absence here is just insane [...] This is not the best way to play [PvZ], not at all. The PS3 and Xbox 360 console versions are still the best way to play, and I'm disappointed that more features from there didn't make it into this game: you could improve and customize your house, there were many more menus (nicer than in this game) for all the extra modes [...] Also: they won't do online multiplayer, which was on the Xbox 360, and won't even allow playing via Steam Remote for network play? Not associating with any of the original creators of the game and including \"concept art\" from other Plants vs Zombies games and calling it concept art for this game is insane.
The office of greedy deceivers once again warmed up the fans for another \"remaster\" with a 16:9 resolution and improved HD quality for 20 DOLLARS...[...] the remaster is absolutely not worth the money. I'll start with the graphics, which really do exist and definitely look prettier than the original game. The resolution for modern monitors made the picture much more pleasant, but at the same time stretched, which made the arena seem small, and half of the screen around the edges is occupied by unnecessary decorations... Has it become more pleasant to play? Taking into account the updated graphics and HD quality, the picture of course looks rich and, despite the use of AI, pleases the eye. Only the attitude of the developers is not pleasing, since giving such money for upscales is clearly not worth it. Yes, if they made the graphics themselves, it still wouldn't be enough to put such a price tag. Bushes that have become slightly larger than in the console versions can sometimes catch your eye and, not so much interfere with the gameplay, but definitely spoil the visual impressions. They could have done much better, or not stretch the screen at all (but not leave a square either). All this could have been implemented by making normal efforts and at least a little soul, which is not in this remaster at all. No soul, no conscience, but the price tag is 20 bucks.
