FromSoftware needed more time for optimization.
FromSoftware has announced that it will not be able to release Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 console by the end of this year, which is why the project has been postponed to 2026.
The developers apologized to everyone who was waiting for the game, but noted that the additional time will allow them to improve the performance of Elden Ring on Switch 2 and release the role-playing action game on the Nintendo console in its "best form".
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition includes two additional classes, four skins for the mount, and equipment that was not in the original game. All content from the Tarnished Edition will be available on other platforms as a free update.
