An impressive way to steal was invented by inquisitive players.
Many who played The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim remember a specific stealth mechanic — you can take and put a bucket on the head of merchants, and then calmly rob them (the bucket limits the view of the NPC).
Former Skyrim developer Bruce Nesmith, in a conversation with FRVR, said that this function was not planned to be introduced into the game:
...it was pure chance. I don't think anyone even tried to put a bucket on someone's head during development. It only happened after the game was released!
Nesmith explains that he "knows exactly why this is happening." This is a side effect of Bethesda's work on the mechanics and simulation of the Skyrim world:
You feel like part of [Tamriel], feel free, develop your character, and at the same time feel like you are there: "This is me. I'm here." Therefore, you feel like your own character
