HoYoverse (miHoYo) has presented the first teaser of its new project — a fantasy game on Unreal Engine 5 with realistic graphics. The short video shows riders disappearing into the fog, flying dragons, and a giant creature rising from the water. All this is accompanied by visual detail previously uncharacteristic of HoYoverse projects — the studio is clearly striving to go beyond the usual anime aesthetic.
The project's official website features job openings that reveal part of the concept. The descriptions mention a "realistic fantasy world" and dynamic battles. However, more information appeared thanks to a leak published by insider Selee.
According to the information, it is a multiplayer game with a dynamic open world, PvP battles, and cooperative elements. The description mentions large-scale battles with bosses, next-generation animation technologies, and advanced world simulation, including improved NPC artificial intelligence that takes into account the terrain in battle.
Interestingly, one of the applications regarding the development of the game client on Unreal Engine 5 requires the candidate to have "experience with multiplatform projects, including PCs, consoles, and mobile devices." This confirms that the game will be multiplatform and will also be released on mobile devices — like previous HoYoverse projects.
Users in the comments under the publication on Reddit are already calling the project "Genshin Impact 2", although they immediately correct themselves, pointing out that it will have PvP and, judging by the video, a darker visual style reminiscent of Elden Ring.
