AMD is preparing to revise prices for video cards due to the crisis in the memory market caused by the explosive growth of artificial intelligence.

AMD has notified partners of an upcoming increase in video card prices. The reason is a sharp increase in the cost of memory, which has affected the entire electronics market. According to the Chinese portal Board Channels, this is the second increase in GPU purchase prices this fall: the first occurred in October and had almost no effect on retail prices, but the new increase may be much more noticeable and will affect the entire line, including Radeon gaming models.

The increase in cost is explained by the situation in the DRAM and NAND market. Memory manufacturers do not have time to expand capacity amid explosive demand from the artificial intelligence segment. Over the past year, chip prices have more than doubled, and supply remains limited. Major suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron are focusing on more profitable chips for servers and AI solutions, leaving the consumer market in the background.

AMD, like other graphics processor manufacturers, is forced to take into account the increased costs in the cost of production. According to sources, the company has already sent distributors a notice of price increases for the next batch of GPUs, but the exact timing and scope of the adjustment have not yet been disclosed. Experts suggest that the increase could be between 10 and 20%.

A similar situation is observed with NVIDIA. According to previous reports, the company is also considering raising prices due to rising costs for memory and components. This means that already in early 2026, the cost of video cards may increase throughout the market, regardless of brand. The crisis in the memory market is also associated with a possible abandonment of the 50 RTX SUPER line or, at least, a postponement of its release, which was originally expected in early 2026, although NVIDIA has not yet made official comments.
