Information has emerged that Asus and MSI have begun a "panic buying" of memory modules, hoping to cover demand in advance. Experts predict that supply problems will persist until at least 2027. The main reason is the continued growth in demand for artificial intelligence solutions.
According to DigiTimes, companies are massively purchasing consumer modules on the spot market. DDR5 is already breaking new price records, and Samsung, the largest chip manufacturer, is preparing to announce a memory price increase of approximately 60%.
RAM suppliers are ceasing to issue new price offers, which underscores the scale of the crisis. The worsening situation is also due to the fact that manufacturers previously reduced DRAM volumes, not expecting such a sharp surge in demand.
As a result, rising RAM prices could make PC gaming significantly more expensive. The industry hopes to keep the market under control, but forecasts remain bleak.
