Twitch Added to List of Platforms Subject to Social Media Ban for Children in Australia
The list also includes other major platforms and services like YouTube, X, and TikTok.
The streaming service Twitch has been officially included in the list of social media platforms where individuals under the age of 16 will be prohibited from registering and having accounts starting December 10, 2025.
From December 10, Twitch will block new registrations for users under 16, and existing accounts of minors will begin to be deactivated.
The decision was made less than three weeks before the "Social Media Minimum Age legislation" comes into effect.
In addition to Twitch, the list also includes Kick, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, and several other popular social platforms.
The ban is called "dynamic": services may be added to or removed from it in the future as needed.
