According to an internal Ubisoft presentation for 2024, in the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Princess Farah will no longer be a "damsel in distress" and will become an independent fighter.
A video briefly appeared on YouTube showing slides from a closed Ubisoft presentation: fragments of motion capture scenes, alpha gameplay, and concept art. The video was quickly removed at the request of the copyright holder, but before that, it managed to come to the attention of journalists.
One of the main focuses of the presentation is the evolution of Princess Farah, the Prince's companion in the original 2003 game. In the classic Sands of Time, Farah accompanied the hero throughout almost the entire game, participated in battles, but often needed rescuing: if an enemy killed her, the game ended.
Now Farah is a true ally, capable of fighting independently with a bow and performing joint attacks. No need to protect her anymore.
It is also reported that the developers have updated the combat system, added new acrobatic moves, and expanded the possibilities for controlling time.
