Bungie has released a developer diary dedicated to the major Renegades expansion for Destiny 2, scheduled for release on December 2.
In the video, Bungie showed the expansion trailer, gameplay, new progression systems, equipment, and plot details. Special attention was paid to the main antagonist of Renegades — Dredgen Bayle. In a short segment, the studio demonstrated the character's concept art: a figure in a red cloak with a hood, dangling chains, and an electronic device on its chest. It was this image that caught the community's attention, leading some to think that Bungie made the concept using AI.
User MGecko117 pointed out specific problems on his X social media page: chains changing shape and turning into folds of fabric; different rendering styles in the front and back; distorted electronics on the chest; a double brush; a lightsaber appearing out of nowhere without a hilt; general texture inconsistencies typical of AI.
