A sci-fi adventure with an AI bot from the startup of the co-founder of miHoYo is now available on Apple devices.
Anuttacon studio has released Whispers from the Star on the App Store. The game costs 449 rubles and is available for purchase in Russia. There is no Russian language in the mobile version yet, although Russian subtitles are already present in the Steam version, which was released in August 2025.
In Whispers from the Star, the player establishes contact with Stella, an astronaut girl who finds herself alone on the distant planet Gaia. She is deprived of other means of communication and is completely dependent on the interlocutor on the other side of the screen. Communication is built in real time through video calls, voice and text messages. The replies are generated by artificial intelligence, which creates the effect of talking to a living person.
Whispers from the Star became the debut work of Anuttacon — a startup founded by Cai Haoyu, one of the creators of miHoYo (HoYoverse). The game has almost 1400 reviews on Steam, 83% of which are positive.
Some of the audience considers the studio's approach a successful attempt to revive the character with the help of AI and describes the communication with Stella as surprisingly human. Others call the project a tech demo — impressive, but crude. Players note that the framework of the plot is too strict, and the behavior of the heroine sometimes resembles an ordinary chatbot, which asks inappropriate questions and does not always understand simple things, including what she has in her hands.
The release of the Android version is not yet known.
