Battlefield 6 punishes for inactivity in the menu — players demand a change to the XP booster system

Battlefield 6 users have drawn attention to the controversial mechanics of XP boosters, which are spent even when the user is not in a match. Complaints became widespread after a discussion on Reddit: one user reported leaving the game in the main menu for forty minutes and returning to find that only ten minutes remained of the three activated boosters.

We are talking about boosters that speed up the leveling of the overall level and weapons. Unlike Battlefield 4 and even Battlefield 2042, where the booster timer only counted the time spent in combat, in the sixth part it runs constantly. For those who want to level up as efficiently as possible, this turns into a pointless waste of in-game resources or money.

Users note that this decision makes the system especially disadvantageous for players who have to wait a long time for the match to start — for example, in unpopular modes. Some compare the situation with Call of Duty, where the booster timer also works in the menu, and call it the "worst example to follow."

Players also point to another imbalance. If you activate a booster at the end of the match, the bonus applies to all experience gained, but in the reverse situation — when the effect ends before the end of the battle — double XP is not awarded at all. Since some boosters only last 15 minutes, using them turns into a real lottery. It is important to clarify that the problem only concerns general level boosters: weapon experience boosters work differently.

Despite the criticism, Battlefield 6 has record numbers. The game has become the best-selling shooter of the year and, according to various estimates, has approached the mark of 10 million copies sold. Fans hope that the developers will take feedback into account and improve the user experience.
