The first descriptions of the series from participants of a closed presentation hint at a show in the spirit of a western and the first season of \"True Detective.\"
HBO Max presented the first teaser for the series \"Lanterns,\" which is part of the new DC cinematic universe by James Gunn. The screening took place behind closed doors at a presentation in São Paulo, so for now we have to rely on eyewitness accounts.
According to them, the teaser conveys the atmosphere of a modern western: the action takes place in rural America, and the picture is in a brown and gold palette. In the video, Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) argue about who saves people better, and only a short shot of Jordan's flight reminds us that this is still a story about superheroes.
The plot of \"Lanterns\" is described as \"an earthly thriller about two intergalactic cops investigating a mysterious murder in the heart of the USA.\" Gradually, the detective line grows into a much larger threat associated with the mythology of the Lantern Corps and the overall arc of the DCU.
Earlier, James Gunn had already compared the series to \"True Detective,\" and the new leak of descriptions only confirms this.
