Fans have long been asking for such things to be introduced into the game.
The developers of the real-time strategy game Tempest Rising have begun teasing the next major update. They have heard the community's request and are preparing to add superweapons to the game.
The "Global Defense Force" faction received a strike drone station:
Once construction is complete, it provides a huge radius of vision around itself, allowing the GDF to further expand its information advantage on the battlefield.
It will be possible to call in a strike on specified coordinates: turret drones will fall to the ground, dealing damage on impact and then opening fire.
The "Tempest Dynasty" will receive the "Excavator Platform" siege machine: it will burrow into the ground to deliver units, and will also be able to cause earthquakes.
Once construction is complete, the Dynasty can begin deploying its assault squads of up to 18 units in massive armored drop pods. These pods are capable of launching underground, making their way under the enemy's army and fortifications, breaking to the surface, and landing their troops for a surprise attack.
