Team Cherry called it "disappointing" that the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, which took place in September, interfered with the launch of other indie games.
In an interview with Bloomberg, studio co-founder Ari Gibson explained that the team was "rushing" to complete development, not knowing the exact release date until the last moment.
Even we ourselves felt that we didn't have much control over the date, and in the end we just worked until the last minute. As soon as we decided that the game was ready for release - bam, and we release it.
Team Cherry announced the release date just two weeks before the game's release. Hell is Us creative director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête then called the Australians' actions "heartless". Necrosoft moved the premiere of Demonschool, noting that "Silksong just captured everyone".
