Half a year has passed since the release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Players have had time to complete the game and form an opinion.
The Japanese portal Denfaminicogamer conducted a survey to find out what the audience values most — and the results were unexpected. The story came in first place, not the mechanics.
17% of participants noted the story. According to them, although the game talks about loneliness, it emphasizes the importance of the presence of other people — it makes the challenges easier and does not allow you to plunge into despair. The second most popular aspect was the characters (16%). Players believe that the characters experience similar difficulties, but remain different.
Third place was taken by the social element — it was chosen by 15% of respondents. The system allows you to maintain contact with unfamiliar players, and joint actions provide mutual benefit. The same number (15%) highlighted travel: advanced movement mechanics, diverse landscapes, and a sense of satisfaction after delivering goods or finding hot springs.
The majority of survey participants are men over 30: 70% of men and 30% of women were in this age group.
