Publisher Dark Product and studio Just Purkey Games have officially announced that the open-world "heavy metal horror" The Axis Unseen will appear on PlayStation 5 on December 4.
The Axis Unseen is a dark mix of hunting simulator, atmospheric exploration, and fantasy. The player has to track down and kill monsters from ancient legends, using supernatural skills, a bow with magic arrows, and abilities stolen from defeated monsters.
Features of the PS5 version:
- Adaptive triggers: the tension of the bowstring feels different depending on the type of arrow, and light impulses warn that you have been noticed or are sneaking up from behind
- Tactile feedback: each monster makes the controller vibrate in a certain way
- Three-dimensional sound, allowing you to determine the direction of the target and how far away it is
The author of the project is Nate Purkeypile, a Bethesda veteran who worked at the company for 14 years and managed to contribute to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Stafield. In 2021, Purkeypile left Bethesda to "make games with his own hands again".
