Scarlett Johansson has completed her superhero career in Marvel and is now preparing to return to the world of comics in a villainous role.
Scarlett Johansson, known for her role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, may appear in the DC Universe for the first time. According to Deadline, the actress is in the final stages of negotiations to star in "The Batman. Part 2", where Robert Pattinson will once again play Bruce Wayne.
According to The InSneider's sources, Emma Stone was originally invited for this role, but the actress refused. After that, Johansson took the initiative and asked her agency to seek participation in the project. It is assumed that her character will be an antagonist, but details have not yet been disclosed.
Johansson previously stated that she had definitively ended her participation in the Marvel franchise after the solo film "Black Widow", emphasizing that her character's story was complete. Apparently, the actress's priority will now be another superhero universe.
Production of "The Batman. Part 2" will begin in the spring of 2026, and the premiere is scheduled for October 1, 2027.
